| What
is commonly called DVD Ripping is simply to copy the picture and the
sound of a DVD disk, compress it in another format (ie: MPEG 4) , record
it to a CD or on to your hard drive, providing a digital copy of the
film you want. A major disadvantage is that DVD Ripping requires a
powerful PC station with much free hard disk space. The files that you
work with are very large and it can take hours to to rip a movie and
compress it.
